Mono Lake Christmas 2006

Posted on January 1st, 2007 in , by jud || 1 Comment

Magda and I returned to Mono Lake for another Christmas trip. It was a mellow trip, with varied weather. However, I did get some exciting images that I’ll be posting over the next few days. Here’s the first of the set:

Jodie + Mike at Kohl Mansion

Jodie and Mike had an beautiful, fun and low-key wedding at the incredible Kohl Mansion in Burlingame. They are such a cool couple, relaxed, fun and very classy. I was with Craig Smith and we had a great time.

Last Sunday was a scorcher, but I got to spend it with a fun couple Rose and Jeremiah + Leonard Norwitz from lensphoto.

The ceremony was held at the Santa Clara mission:

Last weekend I photographed a fun wedding with a great couple, Vicky and Chris. The wedding was held outdoors at Ardenwood historic park in Fremont. I wish them the best and hope that they enjoy their Jamacian honeymoon! Here are some images:

New Images: Mono Lake Winter Wonderland

Posted on March 15th, 2005 in , , by jud || No Comment

I have posted a new collection of images, titled Mono Lake Winter Wonderland, which is also the title of one of the images.

Magda and I took the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day off, and turned out to be much more of an adventure than we’d planned. I should write a separate entry about everything that happened, but suffice it to say that it involved a car accident ($5000 worth of damage caused by a large rock), a tow truck driver from Deliverance, a separate rescue by the Mono County Sheriff, getting snowed in, and a number of really exciting photographs! Enjoy.

Sand & Tufa #1: A new Mono Lake Summer ’04 photo

I have posted
Sand & Tufa #1,
the third shot from my
Mono Lake Summer ’04 collection.

This was taken very close to
Big and Small, a mile or so beyond the Navy Beach Tufa area.

Tufa Fortress: A new Mono Lake Summer ’04 photo

Posted on October 26th, 2004 in by jud || No Comment

I’ve posted a new photo,
TufaFortress, a new photo in my Mono Lake Summer ’04 collection.

I spent two evening at the South Tufa Preserve, and this was my favorite from the lot. I used a polarizer, creating a
little more drama in the clear sky.

The full title to this picture should be “Waiting at the gates of the tufa fortress”. Perhaps you can see why.

As night closed in, the tufa
took on an alien character, and I was struck by the feeling that I was in a
cemetary…

This is the first image from my April trip to Mono Lake.

Magda in hikey: A new photo

Posted on February 9th, 2004 in , by jud || No Comment

I took a new photo of Magda that I’m enjoying very much. I hope you do too. This effect is called hi-keying, because much of the photo is lightened, with only a few dark areas preserved for contrast.
